Well hey there guys welcome back. Every Tuesday I am going to try to post what I like to call Trio Tuesday. I am going to choose a specific piece of clothing and style it three completely different ways. This week I choose my Ralph Lauren boyfriend fit medium wash jeans. 

My first look features the jeans styled in a casual, spring look. I love the pajama shirt look. When I found this one at H&M for ten dollars I couldn't resist. I paired this outfit with my sparkly gold and chestnut sandals from Target. This outfit would be perfect for going to class or quickly running errands. 

My second look features the jeans styled in a more sophisticated, dressed up way. I paired the jeans with my red/orange blazer from Forever 21 and a sheer pale pink tank I got from H&M years ago. I of course paired this outfit with my favorite nude flats from Target. This outfit would be perfect for meetings or going out to dinner.

My third look is probably my favorite. This outfit is perfect for class or going to get coffee on those chilly springs days. I paired the jeans in this look with  a simple white and navy striped boat tee from Forever 21 and my trench coat from Forever 21. I paired my white converse with the outfit to keep it casual and fun. 

Hey guys, as I continue blogging I will work out a schedule but as of right now I will not be writing on Friday or Saturday. I will instead be posting every Sunday. These post will be what I did that weekend. These post will give you a look at great places to eat in DC, random things to do in DC, or just movies to watch on a lazy Sunday morning.

This weekend was super busy it started on Friday when my sister came down to visit me. My friends and I took her to DC to show her around Georgetown. We of course had to make a stop for cupcakes but not the typical Georgetown cupcakes (even though they are super good also), we stopped at a small shop called Baked and Wired (aka best cupcakes you will ever have). These cupcakes are the same price as Georgetown Cupcakes but you get a cupcake about triple the size. I recommend any flavor of their lemon cupcakes I've noticed that they've recently been changing the names. After that we took them to eat on the stairs of the Lincoln Memorial. Anyone new to the DC area or spending the weekend in the DC area, I highly recommend visiting the the monuments at moonlight it is a completely different experience and incredibly beautiful.

I opted for a simple outfit for Friday night. A white and black striped boyfriend tee from Old Navy, Forever 21 black jeans, which my roommate and I destructed ourselves, and a simple trench from Forever 21 also. For accessories I went with a pair of Chelsea like boots from American eagle, and the city American Apparel tote.

    

The next day was a complete tourist day to show my sister around. We went to museums on the National Mall, and even managed to make it the monument in the sunlight. The first museum we went to was the Natural History Museum. I recommend this museum to any of all ages, it transports you back to your childhood.

      

                   

Sometimes in DC you miss things because you are rushing to your destination but sometimes you just have to stop and smell the roses or in this case take a look at some pretty cool sculptures. If you are ever in DC and making a stop at the National Gallery of Art, before you walk into the museum cross the street and stroll through the National Gallery sculpture garden. There you will see some interesting and inspiring sculptures. Unfortunately, Saturday was rainy and dreary but if you go on a good day its so relaxing to sit on one of the  benches and relax.

       


After that we went into the National Gallery of Art, it was only supposed to take a few minutes so I could take some notes for a paper but we all ended up loving it and spending a lot of time there. As soon as you enter the museum you are immersed by beauty not only of the artwork but of the architecture of the building. When I walk around this museum I felt a sense of culture and knowledge that no other museum in DC gives me.

                                               

                          

And then to finish off the trip we of course had to stop for a photo shoot. Which means I guess this would be the right time to tell you what I wore on Saturday. I opted for a simple outfit that was kind of my normal routine. I wore a black and white flannel from Forever 21 and a graphic tee also from Forever 21. For pants I chose my dark wash American Eagle jeggings. For accessories I went for classic white converse and once again my American Apparel city tote.

                 

After that I said goodbye to my sister, and was ready for Sunday. I spent all day Sunday volunteering at a charity fashion show with my school's fashion club. Through fashion club I am able to have hands on experience in the fashion industry. Most times we volunteer as dressers and help with any other tasks the designers need done. Through events like these with fashion club it has made realize that this is the field that I want to work in.

Well hey there guys, I am back with my second blog post. For today's post I was going to write a little bit more about myself. You all got a quick glimpse at me yesterday but not a lot. I was scrolling through Pinterest looking for About Me tags and Q&A tags and I realized that all the questions were all pretty generic. They all dealt with topics that you will slowly learn about me as I continue my blog. Then I stumbled upon a tag that has to do with one of my favorite things in life, music. Music has always been a huge part of my life. So here it is my life in music.

A song from my Childhood: Haven't Met You Yet- Michael Buble
This song is one of those songs that I have the fondest memories of. Michael Buble was a huge part of my childhood. I remember driving in the car to go see my great grandmother in the nursing home and my sister, my mom and I would be belting out to this song.

A song that reminds me of my dad: Sugar Magnolia- The Grateful Dead
As a matter of fact any of The Grateful Dead's songs remind me of my dad. My dad has been a dedicated fan since he was my age. Their music has been the background music of my life, it was constantly playing in the car or in our house. It was not until recently that I finally found an appreciation for their music. I am happy I finally took the time to appreciate and listen to it with my full attention. I will actually be going to see Dead and Company in June with my dad.

A song that reminds me of my mom: Sugar- Maroon 5
This was actually a hard song to pick there are many different songs that remind me of my mom. This one was the first that came to mind. Over the past year, I went through desensitization for my peanut allergy (there it is random fact about me number one, yes I have a peanut allergy). We would drive forty-five minutes every other Wednesday and this song was constantly on our playlist and we would sing along to it together.

A song that reminds me of my sister: What Makes you Beautiful- One Direction
Where do I even begin with this one. My sister and I are so close because of this band. The amount of memories I have made with her because of them I would never take back. I remember when we discovered this song on YouTube I was going into freshman year of high school, and we sat up in our TV room and had it on repeat for the last week of summer. We stood in line for 8 hours that following March to meet them, and we have attended 5 of their concerts together.

A song that is often stuck in my head: Stressed Out- 21 Pilots
21 Pilots are one of my favorite bands, they are musically and lyrically strong. They have an edge to them that makes them stand out from different alternative/ indie artists. This is one of their songs that everyone knows and is constantly playing so of course it is going to be stuck in my head.

A song that reminds me of my best friend: Play it Again- Luke Bryan
A simple country song that everyone knows reminds me of my best friend. I can't count the endless nights we had driving in the car during the summer blasting this song and singing along to it.

A song that reminds me of a past summer: Summer- Calvin Harris
Ironic right, I remember jamming to this in the car the past two summers.

A song by my favorite band: Where do Broken Heart go- One Direction
Of course I would choose a One Direction song, this is actually one of their songs that most people do not know and is highly underrated. This was easily one of my favorite songs performed also.

A song off the soundtrack of my favorite movie: Tee Shirt- Birdy
Such a sad but meaningful song. This song was featured in The Fault in our Stars one of my favorite movies, which also features one of the best soundtracks. My sister can tell you after the soundtrack came out it was easily all I listened to for a good week.

The last song I listened to: 7 years- Lukas Graham

A song that I love singing along to: Wildest Dreams- Taylor Swift
This is easily one of my favorite songs of hers. I could listen to this song 24/7 on repeat and never get tired of it, thank god for that because its on every radio station. It is a song that I can listen to no matter my mood its not too sad nor too happy, its honestly just a perfect song.

A song that has made me cry: You Belong with Me- Taylor Swift
This song was another one of those that I listened to my entire childhood. This past July I was finally able to go and see her live, and little did I know the surprise that awaited me. She announced that she was going to be doing a throwback song at every show starting the night I was there. When she started the beat to the song, I looked over at my mom who also loves this song, and there were tears welling up in my eyes.

A song that I love but rarely listen to: Ophelia- The Lumineers

The first song alphabetically on my Itunes library: A.M- One Direction
Yes I own every One Direction song.

The last song alphabetically on my Itunes library: 3000 Miles- Emblem3
Well this is embarrassing. I went through a major Emblem3 obsession my first two years of high school.

A song I cannot stand to listen to: Work- Rihanna ft. Drake
Yes I cannot stand this song sorry everyone. I think it is highly overplayed, I prefer slower Rihanna songs like Needed Me off Anti.

A song that reminds me of somewhere: Beverly Hills- Weezer
When we went to California I remember driving down Sunset Blvd. and this song was playing in my headphones and I realized wow I made it here. Now when I listen to this throwback I am transported back to Los Angeles.

A song that reminds me of an event: Cheerleader- Omi
I actually do not even like this song, I think it was highly overplayed during the summer. But when I hear this song on the radio I am transported back to the 1989 Taylor Swift concert, when everyone in Metlife Stadium was singing along and having a good time.

A song from a band that I hate: Sledgehammer- Fifth Harmony
Yes I do not like Fifth Harmony but man I can jam to this song. There is no reason I can just jam.

A song that I love by an artist no longer alive: Swings and Waterslides- Viola Beach
This is actually really sad I am putting this song in this category. The unexpected death of Viola Beach in Sweden a few months ago brought about my love for this song again. I completely forgot about it until I found out that their bus had crashed. Since then this song has been on repeat.

A song by a band you still wish was together: Year 3000
Lets be real any college freshman girl that tells you that she doesn't miss the Jonas Brothers is lying. The Jonas Brothers are still a guilty pleasure for me I am not going to lie. I still jam to them sometimes. Even though we still have Nick and Joe singing for us, we all still secretly want the Jonas Brothers reunion tour to still happen.

Welcome to my life, this blog has been something I have wanted to do since about seventh grade and today is the day that it is finally happening. Let me begin by introducing myself my name is Olivia. I am a current college freshman and majoring in fashion merchandising with a minor in business. I have loved fashion since a very young age. I still remember the first issue of Vogue my mother gave me and the Chanel scented pages. I now associate that smell with New York City. I am currently living my life right outside Washington, DC and enjoying the city life. I would describe my style as preppy and classic. I enjoy being able to have a closet that will never go out of style. I hope you enjoy following my journey through college with me as I document it on here. Here it goes the moment I have been waiting for awhile to do my first outfit post. Well lets get on with it. 

Today was one of those mornings where there was not enough time in the world. I may or may not have slept a little longer than I should have, so wearable "pajamas" it is. These Forever 21 pants are seriously a life saver. Everyone has those days where you do not want to get dressed or even put on jeans well these are the perfect solutions, I cannot even count how many pairs of these pants I own both flowy and straight. Paired with a loose boyfriend tee and nude flats it made these pants look more dressed up. I walked to class without even realizing how cold it was outside, when I got back I slipped on my jean jacket and I was ready to go. My pants of course are from Forever 21 and can be found in a variety of colors and patterns. My jean jacket is from J. Crew factory from a few seasons ago. My tee shirt is from Old Navy. Old Navy has a great variety of these shirts in all different solid colors from neutrals to brights. My shoes are from Target; they are the most comfortable pair of flats that I own; I wear them almost everyday. For jewelry today I kept it pretty simple and went with this simple rectangle necklace from Forever 21.
